Be sure to ground the water heater. Failure to do so could result in property damage, severe personal injury, or
death.
When the water heater is not within sight of the electrical circuit breakers, a circuit breaker lockout or additional
local means of disconnection for all non-grounded conductors must be provided that is within sight of the
appliance (Ref. NEC 422.31).
NOTE:
It is recommended that the water heater electrical connections be tested once a year by a qualifi ed
technician.
After wiring is complete, slide the gray bottom cover of the water heater into place by hand. Use the two (2)
screws removed earlier in the installation process to secure the front cover of the water heater.
