Step 7: Secure the drive
Mounting hardware used

Secure the tape drive into place. Use the screws you removed in “Step 3: Prepare the
mounting bay” on page 15 to fix the drive in place, as shown in figure 9a.

Replace the cover on the server.
No mounting hardware used

Secure the tape drive into place. Check that the holes in the chassis are aligned with the holes
in the sides of the tape drive and use the screws provided with the rail kit to secure the drive,
as shown in figure 9b.
HP ProLiant servers:
Ensure that you use M3 mounting screws. Some HP ProLiant server
models will provide special M3 mounting or locating screws and these should be used. The
server may incorporate a locking mechanism used in conjunction with the locating screws to
hold the tape drive in place.
Other servers:
Ensure that you use M3 mounting screws.
