Before removing the system board, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4.
Remove the bottom cover (see
).
5.
Remove the battery (see
).
6.
Remove the fans (see
).
When replacing the system board, be sure to remove the heat sink (see
) from
the defective system board and install it on the replacement system board.
Remove the system board:
1.
Disconnect the following cables from the system board:
(1) Speaker cables (two locations)
(2) Solid-state drive connector board ZIF connector cable
(3) Keyboard ZIF connector cable
(4) Backlight ZIF connector cable
(5) TouchPad ZIF connector cable
(6) Thermal sensor board ZIF connector cable
