Displaying and Setting the Monitor Type
Your system ships from the factory preset to use a monitor with a specific
resolution and frequency. If you replace your workstation’s monitor with a
different type of monitor, you must reconfigure your workstation to support
the new monitor.
The Monitor Command
The monitor command lets you change your workstation’s graphics config-
uration. This command is available in the Configuration Menu of the boot
console interface.
To display the current graphics and console information, enter the following
command:
Configuration Menu: Enter command >
monitor
The correct usage for setting the graphics configuration is:
Configuration Menu: Enter command >
monitor graphics_path type
where valid graphics_path parameters are:
graphics(0) - The on-board 8-plane graphics adapter.
pmc1 - Graphics adapter installed in PMC site 1.
pmc2 - Graphics adapter installed in PMC site 2.
pmc3 - Graphics adapter installed in PMC site 3.
pmc4 - Graphics adapter installed in PMC site 4.
and type is the numerical monitor type as shown with the monitor list com-
mand.
