8. Remove the bottom cover (3).
To replace the bottom cover, reverse the removal procedures.
Battery
To remove the battery, use this procedure and illustration.

Before removing the battery, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 27 ).
2. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 27 ).
Remove the battery:
1. Disconnect the battery cable (1) from the system board.
2. Release the speaker cable from the retention clips (2) and routing channel built into the front edge of the
battery.
3. Remove the four Phillips M2.0 × 4.0 screws (3) that secure the battery to the computer.
