Troubleshooting the Cooling System
Symptom
When the environment temperature of a board is more than or equal to the high
temperature threshold, fans rotate at full speed and the following information
appears on the configuration terminal:
%May
4 19:37:29:945 2000 HP DRVMSG/3/Temp2High:
Environment temperature too high in Slot 5, index is 0.
When the temperature of the CPU on a board is more than or equal to the high
temperature threshold, fans rotate at full speed and the following information
appears on the configuration terminal:
%May
4 19:37:29:945 2000 HP DRVMSG/3/Temp2High:
CPU temperature too high in Slot 5, index is 0.
When the environment temperature of a board is more than or equal to the critical
threshold, fans rotate at full speed and the configuration terminal keeps displaying
the following information:
%May
4 19:37:54:945 2000 HP DRVMSG/3/TempCritical:
Environment temperature critical in Slot 5, index is 0.
When the temperature of the CPU on a board is more than or equal to the critical
threshold, fans rotate at full speed and the configuration terminal keeps displaying
the following information:
%May
4 19:37:54:945 2000 HP DRVMSG/3/TempCritical:
CPU temperature critical in Slot 5, index is 0.
When the environment temperature or CPU temperature of a board exceeds the critical
threshold, the ALM LED is on.
You can use the
display environment
command to view the high temperature threshold and
the critical threshold of a board.
Solution
Check that:
The fans are running normally.
The working environment of the router is well ventilated.
Use the
display environment
command to check whether the board temperature
keeps rising.
If the temperature inside the board exceeds the critical threshold while the fans are working
normally and environment is well ventilated, contact your local sales agent.
For more information about the
display environment
command, refer to
Device Management

Troubleshooting Ethernet Interfaces
