Operating and Storage Environment

against loading by a special circuit and must be installed with the
correct polarity. Changing the battery should be carried out only by
HP service personnel. If you need to get the battery replaced refer
to your nearest Hewlett-Packard Sales/Service Office.
Changing the Fuse
There is no user replaceable fuse for the HP 8163A Lightwave
Multimeter and the HP 8164A Lightwave Measurement System.
Changing the fuse should be carried out only by HP service
personnel. If you need to get the fuse replaced refer to your nearest
Hewlett-Packard Sales/Service Office.
The HP 8163A Lightwave Multimeter contains a F5.0A/250V fast-
acting fuse.
The HP 8164A Lightwave Measurement System contains a
F10.0A/250V fast-acting fuse.
A.4 Operating and Storage Environment
The following summarizes the operating environment ranges. In
order for the HP 8163A Lightwave Multimeter and the HP 8164A
Lightwave Measurement System to meet specifications, the
operating environment must be within these limits.

The HP 8163A Lightwave Multimeter and the HP 8164A Lightwave
Measurement System are not designed for outdoor use. To prevent
potential fire or shock hazard, do not expose the instrument to rain or
other excessive moisture.
