3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the Battery (see Battery on page 52 ), and then remove the following components:
a. Service cover (see Service cover on page 53 )
b. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 54 )
c. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 62 )
d. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 64 )
e. Top cover (see Top cover on page 67 )
f. Speakers (see Speakers on page 76 )
NOTE: When replacing the system board, be sure that the following components are removed from
the defective system board and installed on the replacement system board:

WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 57 )
●
Solid-state drive (see Solid-state drive on page 59 )
●
Memory modules (see Memory module on page 60 )
●
RTC battery (see RTC battery on page 91 )
●
Heat sink (see Heat sink on page 87 )
●
Fan (see Fan on page 90 )
Remove the system board:
1. Release the ground tape (1) that secures the display panel cable to the system board.
2. Release the ZIF connector (2) to which the display panel cable is attached, and then disconnect
the display panel cable from the system board.
