The calculator responds to certain conditions or keystrokes by displaying a
message. The

symbol comes on to call your attention to the message.
To clear a message, press

To clear a message

perform another function, press any other key.
If no message appears but

does, you have pressed an
inactive
key (a key that
has no meaning in the current situation, such as

in Binary mode).
