Replaceable Parts
5-1. Introduction
This section contains information for ordering
parts. Table 5-1 lists abbreviations used in the
parts list. Table 5-2 and table 5-3 list all
replaceable parts in reference designator order.
5-2. Abbreviations
Table 5-1 lists abbreviations used in the parts list
and throughout the manual. In some cases, two
forms of the abbreviations are used, one all in
capital letters, and one in partial or no capitals.
This occurs because the abbreviations in the parts
list are always all capitals. However, in other parts
of the manual other abbreviation forms are used
with both lower and uppercase letters.
5-3. Replaceable Parts List
Table 5-2 shows the list of replaceable parts for
the HP 16500A and table 5-3 shows the list of
replaceable parts for the HP 16501A. The tables
are organized as follows:
•
Exchange assemblies in alphanumerical
order by reference designation.
•
Electrical assemblies in alphanumerical order
by reference designation.
•
Chassis-mounted parts in alphanumerical
order by reference designation.
The information given for each part consists of the
following:
•
Reference designator.
•
Hewlett-Packard part number.
•
Check digit (CD).
•
Total quantity (Qty) in the instrument. The
total quantity for each part is only given once,
at the first appearance of the part number in
the list.
•
Part description.
5-4. Exchange Assemblies
Some of the parts used in this instrument have
been set up on an exchange program. This allows
the customer to exchange a faulty assembly with
one that has been repaired, calibrated, and
performance-verified at Hewlett-Packard. The
cost of the exchange assembly is significantly less
than that of a new part.
Exchangeable assemblies are listed separately in
table 5-2 and in table 5-3, under the heading
"Exchange Assemblies." They usually have a part
number in the form XXXXX-695XX (where the
new part would be XXXXX-665XX).
Before ordering an exchange assembly, check
with your Hewlett-Packard Sales Office for the
procedures associated with the exchange program.
5-5. Ordering Information
To order a part listed in the replaceable parts
table, quote the Hewlett-Packard part number and
check digit, indicate the quantity required, and
address the order to the nearest Hewlett-Packard
Sales Office.
To order a part not listed in the replaceable parts
table, include the instrument model number, the
instrument serial number, the description and
function of the part, and the quantity of parts
required. Address the order to the nearest
Hewlett-Packard Sales Office.
