Prepare a vise fixed securely on the
work table. Secure the C
- 700 - 13 by
the set block on the vise.
Lubricate where indicated by the
arrow in the illustration

When using the C

13 for the first time, practice the following procedure using a
discarded spoke until you are familiar with this device before working on necessary
spoke.

Cut the spoke to the desired length using a pass - each - other -
blade type tool, e. g. HOZAN’s C - 217 WIRE CUTTER and
such.
If cutting edge appears as indicated by NG, there are over
diameter parts, by using a spoke cutter and such, smooth it
until appears as shown by OK using a bench grinder.

Maintain proper posture when using this tool.
2. Wear goggles when using this tool.
3. Do not modify the C - 700 - 13.
4. Do not use when cracks, breaks, wear or deformation is found on this tool.

13 is designed for #13 spokes (#14/15 spokes using optional head)
only. Do not use with any other sizes of spoke. Check the spoke size before use.
6. Periodically lubricate heads and all moving parts.
7. Heads are consumables. The degree of wear will vary depending on the frequency
of use.
8. Use the C - 700 - 13 securing in a vise. The vise must be fixed securely to the work
table.
9. Do not tighten any of the nuts more than necessary.

