CLEANING THE IFD

FILTER

The ifD

filter should be cleaned approximately every 3 months.

Turn the power off and unplug the air purifier.
After removing the ifD

filter from the air purifier,

follow the steps below to clean the ifD

filter.

• Rinse the filter with clean tap water (Fig. 5)
• If the filter still appears dirty, proceed to “Washing,”

otherwise proceed to “Drying.”

Washing:

• Remove the ifD

filter from the unit.

•  Fill a sink with lukewarm water and add a few drops of mild dish soap.
•  Gently swish the filter in the soap solution to clean.
•  Soak the filter for 2-3 minutes. Do not leave for an extended period of time.
•  Rinse the filter with clean tap water (Fig. 5) and proceed to “Drying”.

Drying:

• Shake the filter to remove any excess water.
• Place the filter with the honeycomb side down on a plush towel.
•

Note that the filter may still be discolored even after washing.

This is acceptable and will not affect performance.

• Allow the ifD

filter to dry for a few hours or overnight.

• When the ifD

filter is

completely dry

, place back into the air purifier.

The mesh pre-filter helps capture large airborne particles
that enter the rear grille. This pre-filter can be periodically
removed and shaken or vacuumed clean. Alternatively, it
can be rinsed by hand under warm water to clean. (Fig. 6)
Let the pre-filter air dry completely before inserting back
into the grille (Fig. 7). If you need to replace this item,
please call 1-800-477-0457.

MAINTAINING THE WASHABLE MESH PRE-FILTER

We recommend that you clean the air purifier at least once every 3 months and before extended storage.
Use only a dry cloth to wipe the external surfaces of the air purifier.

DO NOT USE WATER, WAX POLISH,

OR ANY CHEMICAL SOLUTION.

CAUTION:

•

Never place a wet ifD

filter in your air purifier.

• The ifD

filter is NOT dishwasher safe. Do not place the ifD

filter in a dishwasher or subject it to

other extreme hot water conditions.

• Do not use any solvents, strong cleaning agents or flammable liquids to clean the ifD

filter.

Rear Grille

There is an optional pre-filter that can be purchased and used with this air purifier that will help reduce
common household odors and VOCs. This

Pre-filter (HRF-K2) can be used in lieu of the permanent

washable pre-filter that is supplied with the air purifier. The optional

Pre-filter should be replaced

every 3 months for optimum odor and VOC reduction performance.

The Permanent Washable Mesh Pre-filter is attached

to the inside of the rear grille.
• To remove pre-filter, take the rear grille off and

place it on a flat surface as shown in Fig. 4.

• Gently squeeze the flexible plastic frame of the

mesh pre-filter to release it from the holding tabs.

• To re-insert the mesh pre-filter, line up the notches

on the pre-filter with the plastic holding tabs on the
inside of the rear grille and gently squeeze frame to
secure it under the plastic tabs on both sides.

NOTE:

If the odor reducing

pre-filter is used in lieu of the permanent washable mesh pre-filter, it will need to

be replaced approximately every 3 months and should be installed in the same location when the washable
mesh pre-filter is removed. It should be tucked under the tabs on the sides of the rear grille to secure it in place.

OPTIONAL: Changing the Odor Adsorbing Pre-Filter

If you have chosen to use the odor adsorbing

pre-filter that came

with your air purifier, it will lose its effectiveness for odor adsorption
over time and will need to be replaced.
To purchase additional

pre-filters, see Accessories and

Replacement Filters section below.
If using the odo r adsorbing pre-filter, it is recommended that you
store the original washable pre-filter in the event that you decide to
use it in the future.
To insert it into the unit, simply place securely into the rear grille in
lieu of standard pre-filter as shown in Fig. 7.

NOTE: The odor adsorbing pre-filter is not washable.
