The commands for the different dialog items shown in Fig. 11 are listed below. If an
item is focused and
<ENTER>
key is pressed, then either the value will be changed
or a valid value must be entered using the last line as an input line.
"Language"
This command
switches between
"English" and "Deutsch".
NOTE:
XILON is based upon Sysmik's
ALTOhandheld
.
The
ALTOhandheld
currently supports two languages: English and German.
"Keyboard"
This command switches
between
"Click ON"
and
"Click OFF".
"Standby"
This command
opens the input line. You can then enter values between
"0" (=
function is switched OFF)
and
"20"
minutes. If the idle time reaches the entered
value and XILON is in the battery mode, then the standby mode is activated
automatically.
NOTE:
When in the standby mode, only the keypad is watched for an input to
wake up XILON
.
Activating any key will then wake up XILON.
"Auto-OFF"
This command opens the input line. You can then enter values between "0" (=
function is switched OFF) and "20" minutes. If the idle time reaches the entered
value, XILON switches OFF automatically if XILON is in the battery mode.
NOTE:
The database will not be changed if XILON is switched OFF automatically.
The Auto-OFF time starts after the expiration of the time given by the
value for the standby-mode!
"Light"
The maximum brightness used for LCD backlighting can be adjusted incrementally
by varying the length of the bar appearing next to "Light" by pressing
<ENTER>
.
NOTE:
If the value is greater than 50%, the power consumption rises much faster
than the brightness. However, if the battery voltage drops to below a
critical level, the brightness will diminish considerably. To rectify this
situation, it is recommended that you switch to an external power supply.
"Charge"
If XILON is powered by an external AC power supply, this command can be used to
switch the battery charger ON and OFF.
NOTE:
If the battery charging process is interrupted, it resumes as soon as
XILON is switched ON again.
NOTE:
When connected to an external AC power supply, XILON's internal
batteries are automatically recharged, by default.
