Pressing the
<ESC>
key always results in an escape.
NOTE:
Some changes must always be executed using special buttons (e.g.
<SET>
). Otherwise, the edited value of the dialog might become lost.
Hot Keys (<F1> ... <F10>)
The so-called "hot keys" are ten special function keys (
<F1>
...
<F10>
) arranged in
two rows at the top of the keypad. They are a fast means of initiating special XILON
operations at almost any time, i.e. regardless of the contents of the current screen /
menu and regardless of the position of the cursor in it.
Hot Keys Used Alone
<F1>
The
<F1
> hot key is used to provide help screens dependent on the selected item
of the current menu.
The
<F2>
...
<F10>
hot keys and their combination with the
<SHIFT

used to start assigned functions of the application. The hot keys cannot be used in
a help mode, if a message is displayed, or if the database line is selected. The
individual functions of the
<F2>

<SHIFT

<F10>
The

hot

go to the toolbar menu or to open the menu for device set-up. The actual function
available in any given case is displayed in the line above the status line.
All these functions are represented by icons in the toolbar menu and tree view
menu. A short description is displayed there for the selected item. The second line
of icons represents the combinations of a hot key with the
<SHIFT>
key (see
below
).
Hot Keys Used in Conjunction with <SHIFT>
NOTE: <SHIFT>
+ hot key
<F1>...<F9>
is permitted only in the toolbar or tree
