SERVICE INFORMATION
Can’t Be Rolled Backwards:
Clean any debris from
the control arm spring and apply HondaLube (or
equivalent) to the spring area.
c. Use a large flat blade screwdriver to engage and
release the control arm several times.
Confirm the control arm operates smoothly and
returns completely.
Also, if the control arm was recently replaced, remove
the rear scroll and shutter and confirm the control arm
spring is installed in the correct position.
Check the position of the control arm spring. The tab
on the control arm must cover at least two spring coils.
If necessary, position a screwdriver between the case
and spring and push it out against the control arm.
Engage and release the control arm several times to
allow the spring to settle to its final position and
reconfirm that the tab covers at least two coils.
