1. Engine oil level- add engine oil if
required (page 19). Check for leaks.
2. Fuel Level- fill fuel tank when necessary
(page 17). Check for leaks.
3. Front and rear brakes.
Check operation and if necessary,
adjust free play (page 12-13).
4. Tyres – check condition and pressure
(page 20 –22).
OPERATION
PRE-RIDE INSPECTION
For your safety, it is very important to take
a few moments before each ride to walk
around your vehicle and check its condition.
If you detect any problem, be sure you
take care of it, or have it corrected by your
Honda dealer.
WARNING
Improperly maintaining this vehicle or
failing to correct a problem before riding
can cause a crash in which you can be
seriously hurt or killed.
Always perform a pre-ride inspection
before every ride and correct any problems.
5. Drive chain – check condition and
slackness (page 46). Adjust and
lubricate if necessary.
6. Throttle- check for smooth opening
and full closing in all steering positions.
7. Clutch- check operation, and adjust if
necessary (page 15).
8. Lights and horn – check these turn signals,
indicators and horn function properly.
STARTING THE ENGINE
Always follow the proper starting procedure
described below.
The vehicle can also be started with the
transmission in gear by disengaging the
clutch before operating the self starter.
Your vehicle’s exhaust contains poisonous
carbon monoxide gas. High level of carbon
monoxide can accumulate rapidly in enclosed
areas such as a garage. Do not run the engine
with the garage door closed, even with the
door open, run the engine only long enough
to move your vehicle out of the garage.
Do not use the electric starter for more
than 5 seconds at a time. Release the start
button for approximately 10 seconds before
pressing it again.
