DRIVING
Refueling
The fuel fill door is located at the left rear of the vehicle. Park next to the
service pump that is most accessible.
1. Turn the power system off.
2. Press the fuel fill door release button.
“Please Wait” appears for a few
seconds on the Driver Information
Interface. When the message
changes to “ready,” the fuel fill door
automatically opens.

3. Unscrew and slowly remove the
fuel cap. Place the fuel fill cap in the
holder on the fuel fill door.
4. Insert the filler nozzle fully. When the
tank is full, the filler nozzle will click
off automatically.
5. After filling, replace the fuel fill cap,
tightening it until you hear it click at
least once.

Fuel Information
Use of unleaded gasoline of 87 octane or higher is recommended.
• Honda recommends ToP TIer Detergent Gasoline where available.
• Do NoT use gasoline containing more than 15% ethanol.
• Do NoT use gasoline containing methanol.
• Do NoT use gasoline containing MMT.
We recommend quality gasoline containing detergent additives that help
prevent fuel system and engine deposits. In addition, in order to maintain
good performance, fuel economy, and emissions control, we strongly
recommend the use of gasoline that does NoT contain harmful manganese-
based fuel additives such as MMT, if such gasoline is available.

Smart Entry Remote Battery Strength
If the battery life in your remote transmitter is weak, a beep sounds, the PoWer
button indicator flashes, the To Start, Hold remote Near Start Button Message
appears on the driver information interface, and the reADY indicator does not
come on. A message appears in the driver information interface prompting how
to start the power system.
1. Touch the back of the remote
transmitter to the PoWer button
while the indicator is flashing.
2. With the brake pedal pressed, press
the PoWer button within 10 seconds.
Overheating
If the vehicle is overheating, immediately park in a safe place. Put the vehicle
in Park (P) and set the parking brake. Turn off all accessories and turn on the
hazard lights. one or more of the following things will occur:
• The “High Temperature. Power reduced.“ message appears on the multi-
information display. In this case, keep the power mode set to oN and
wait for the message to disappear. If the message does not disappear or
reappears, contact an authorized Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid dealer for
repairs.
• The “Stop Driving When Safe. engine Temperature Too Hot” message
appears on the multi-information display.
If no steam or spray is present, keep the power system on and open the
hood.
If you see steam or spray, set the power mode to oFF and wait for it to
subside. Then, open the hood.
