Engine Oil & Filter

12. Install the oil filler cap/dipstick securely.
13. Start the engine and let it idle for a few

minutes while flushing the cooling system.

Turning on the water before starting the
engine will allow water to flow through the
exhaust pipe back into the engine where it
could cause severe damage.

14. Stop the flushing.

Running the engine without water flow for
more than 15 seconds can cause severe
engine and exhaust system damage.

15. Stop the engine.
16. Check that the oil level is at the upper

level mark on the dipstick (page 127).

17. Check that there are no oil leaks.
