Eliminating noise
To address customer feedback on road noise levels perceptible within the cabin of the previous Accord
Euro, the new generation represents a step change in interior refinement. In particular high frequency and
middle-frequency noise suppression has been significantly improved.
A range of measures have increased sound absorption as well as sound insulation and wherever possible
lightweight materials have been used.
Key initiatives include:
 Floor carpeting with both sound insulation and sound absorption
 A series of dimples and beads incorporated into the floor panel which reduce acoustic radiation
 The new floating rear subframe which lessens road noise input
 Improved insulation within door pillar structures
 A lightweight noise package that includes an acoustic roof lining, acoustic trunk side lining,
wheelarch insulators, and sound absorbing/insulating dashboard elements
Sound system
Every Accord Euro have as standard a premium audio system with 6 CD changer unit located in the
centre console, a separate high power amp delivering 415 watts and no fewer than 10 speakers - two
tweeters and an 8cm centre speaker in the fascia, four door speakers, two rear speakers in the parcel shelf
(Sedan) or in the rear cargo sides (Tourer) and a 20cm subwoofer (in the rear shelf panel of the Sedan or
in the rear side panel in the case of the Tourer). Volume of the sound system can be linked to the speed of
the vehicle, so the higher the speed, the higher the volume of the music.
Portable music players can be played via the Accord Euro’s audio system using the 3.5mm auxiliary jack
point and power outlet located in the centre console.
The combination of outstanding speakers, 415 watts of power and optimal speaker locations creates a
system which delivers luxurious sound from any seating position. The AM/FM tuner gets signals from a
powered, active glass antenna laminated into the rear window glass.
i-Pod connectivity
An optional i-Pod connector kit is available for the Accord Euro. The connector enables tracks to be
forwarded from the controls on the stereo or steering wheel, and also charges the i-Pods battery. Track
numbers are shown on the stereo display.
