8.Fuel filter and fuel tank cleaning

Note that the clogged fuel filter can cause poor engine performance.

Water and dust, dirt or contaminated material in the fuel tank cause a 

poor engine performance.

Gasoline is extremely flammable and is explosive under certain 

conditions. You can be burned or seriously injured when handling fuel. 

Observe the following when servicing the fuel filter.

• Stop the engine.

• Inspect in a well-ventilated area.

• Keep heat, sparks, and flame away. Do not smoke.

• Do not spill the gasoline. If you spilled the gasoline, wipe it up 

immediately and dispose of the cloth or shop towel you wiped the 

spilled gasoline in a manner that is compatible with the environment.

1.Be sure that the engine oil filler cap is tightened securely.

2.Remove the fuel tank cap and drain the gasoline into the container by 

tipping the engine toward the fuel filler neck.
