MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE
Regular maintenance will extend your motor
hoe's service life.
To prevent the machine being started accidentally, disconnect
the spark plug cap.
CAUTION:
• Use genuine Honda parts or equivalent parts only when carrying
out maintenance or repairs. The motor hoe could be damaged if
you use spare parts which are not of at least equivalent quality.
• The engine and the exhaust pipe become hot during operation
and reach temperatures high enough to cause burns or cause a
fire if there are flammable materials nearby. Allow the engine to
cool for 15 minutes before performing any maintenance work.
• Switch off the engine before performing any maintenance
operation. The exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide which is
a toxic gas that can cause fainting or fatal accidents. If it is
necessary to run the engine, make sure there is adequate
ventilation.
(1) Perform maintenance on the air filter more frequently when used in dusty
environments.
(2) Maintenance of these points must be carried out by a Honda dealer.
(3) Change the engine oil every 50 hours in case of severe operating loads or high
ambient temperatures.
TROUBLESHOOTING
TRANSPORT AND
STORAGE
CAUTION:
• The engine and the exhaust pipe reach temperatures high
enough to cause burns and to start a fire if flammable materials
are located nearby. Allow the engine to cool for 15 minutes before
performing any maintenance operations.
Petrol is extremely flammable and explosive. If it ignites when
you are handling it, you may receive serious burns. Handle fuel
outdoors only. Any petrol spilled on the ground must be wiped
up immediately.
TRANSPORT
To avoid any spillage of fuel, drain the fuel tank. Set the engine
switch to the "Off" position and keep the motor hoe in a level
position.
When the motor hoe is transported, it must be held in place with
straps.
LOADING ON A TRAILER
1. Drain the fuel tank and empty the carburetor (
see page 7
).
2. Load the motor hoe onto the trailer in the working position.
Maintenance to be performed at
the intervals specified in months or
operating hours, whichever is the
shorter.
