IM_POJM180417 ARM BLOOD PRESSURE MONITORBASIC 2018-07-25
10. BEFORE MEASUREMENT
• Read this manual before measuring the pressure.
• Do not take a measurement immediately after a substantial
meal. Wait at least one hour to obtain a more accurate reading.
• Do not smoke and do not drink alcoholic beverages before the
measurement.
• If you are tired or exhausted, the reading can be non-
representative for your normal condition.
• Rest for 5-10 minutes before taking the measurement.
• Sit down for the measurement, and do not move or talk.
• Place the cuff on your arm on the heart level, a few centimeters
above the elbow.
• If you cannot sit during the measurement, lie supine and rest
your hand next to your body with the palm facing up. Fasten
the cuff on the heart level.
• The readings constantly change during the measurement.
Minor changes of ambient or internal conditions (eating,
drinking, talk, excitement, accelerated breathing, climatic
conditions, etc.) result in blood pressure variation.
• Always measure pressure in the same hand (typically left). The
pressure difference between your left and right hand can be
significant.
• It is recommended to take daily measurements at the same
time of day.
• Wait at least 5 minutes before taking the next measurement, or
otherwise the results can be inaccurate.
• Selecting the correct arm cuff size is very important for
accuracy. The cuff included with the device is intended for
adults.
• If Irregular Heartbeat (IHB) brought by common arrhythmias
