Demonstration Mode
This camcorder is equipped with a demonstration mode. If you leave the powered camcorder for 10 minutes
without a cassette inserted when the date has not been set or the clock battery is dead, the camcorder
demonstration mode will start.
To cancel the demonstration mode
•
Disconnect power from camcorder and reconnect it.
• Insert a cassette.
If you do not want the camcorder to enter the demonstration mode, set the date beforehand.
Dubbing from the Camcorder to a VCR
Connect the camcorder to a VCR to copy your or a friend's home 8mm recordings to VHS.
1 Connect your camcorder to the VCR, following "Playing Back Your Recording on Your TV" on page 32.
2 Turn on your VCR and place it in the camcorder input mode (consult your VCR manual for details). Operate the
television as you normally do to see the signal coming from the VCR.
3 Hold down the red button of the CAM/ OFF/VIDEO switch while you slide the switch to VIDEO.
4 Insert the recorded tape in the camcorder and a blank tape into the VCR. Set the VCR to record.
5 Play the tape from the camcorder while recording on the VCR.
Note:
If the VCR is connected to a television and the VCR/TV selector is set to VCR, you can monitor the tape
being dubbed.
Note:
Reduce the volume of the camcorder as low as possible during dubbing. Otherwise the played back
pictures could be distorted.
Note:
During multi playback (PAL60 output), dubbing may not be possible with some VCRs.
Simple Programmable Edit (Edit remote control is optional accessory)
Simple programmable edit allows you to program your camcorder to select the scenes you want to copy from a
pre-recorded tape, Use the edit remote control (optional) to easily copy scenes from a recorded tape in the
camcorder (playback machine) onto a blank tape in a table-top VCR which handles infrared remote signals
(recording machine).
Note:
Only the VM-RM20EDA edit remote control (optional) can be used with this camcorder.
Note:
Some VCRs cannot be operated by the edit remote control (optional).
