Activate RSTP at the ports, using S1 as an example.

configure
Switch to the Configuration mode.

Switch to the Interface Configuration mode of

spanning-tree port mode
Activate RSTP on the port.
exit
Switch to the Configuration mode.
interface 1/2
Switch to the interface configuration mode for
port 1.2.
spanning-tree port mode
Activate RSTP on the port.
exit
Switch to the Configuration mode.
