Lightening protection

Warning! 

The antenna should not be the highest point in the area. If this 

is the case, use a lightening conductor to divert lightening strikes.

Lightening protection is an indispensible part of your outdoor antenna in-
stallation. It protects your sensitive electronic devices from transient or 
electrostatic discharges to the antenna.

Warning! 

Antennas placed outdoors must be within the catch-

ment area of a lightening conductor. Make sure that there is 
lightening protection equipotential bonding for all conductive 
systems leading from outdoors. When implementing your light-
ening protection concept, make sure you meet the requirements 
of standards VDE 0182 and IEC 62305.

Hirschmann recommends using the Hirschmann BAT Surge Arrestor as 
lightening protection 

(see on page 37 "Accessories")
