18 Rotor
detection
The centrifuge is equipped with automatic rotor detection.
Rotor detection is carried out after starting each centrifugation run.
If the rotor code of a rotor is read in for the first time by the rotor detection, the centrifugation run then stops
automatically after rotor detection. The rotor code (R) and the maximum speed (maxRPM) of the rotor permitted for
this centrifuge are displayed.
Example:
PROG
t/min:s
RPM
After the rotor comes to a standstill (the left LED in the
STOP
OPEN
key is illuminated), press any key. Afterwards, the
maximum permissible number of run cycles is displayed.
Example:
PROG
t/min:s
RPM
Now, the maximum permissible number of run cycles of the rotor/hangers must be set (see the "Cycle counter"
chapter).
When using a rotor whose rotor code has already been read in by the rotor detection, after starting the centrifugation
run, the maximum speed (ROTOR MAX) of the rotor permissible for this centrifuge is briefly displayed.
Example:
PROG
t/min:s
RPM
If the set speed is greater than the maximum speed of the rotor permissible for this centrifuge, the
centrifugation run is aborted after rotor detection and the following displays alternately appear:
Example:
PROG
t/min:s
RPM
PROG
t/min:s
RPM
In this case, the speed on the display must be checked and adapted to the maximum rotor speed.
