Central Ventilation Box ZEB EC
Installation and Operating Instructions
Full fan performance is only achieved when there is free suction and
discharge.
With regard to sufficient motor cooling, it must be ensured that there is a mini-
mum air flow area of 20 % of the fan section.
1.9 Protection against accidental contact
When installing observe the valid regulations for labour protection and accident
prevention. Any contact with rotating parts must be avoided. It must be ensured
that no textiles (e.g. curtains) or other materials which could be sucked in, e.g.
clothing, are close to the fan suction area.
1.10 Sound level
The sound levels stated in the catalogue can differ considerably after installation
as the sound pressure level depends on the absorption capacity of the room, the
place of installation and other factors.
2.0 Electrical connection
Before any maintenance or installation work or before opening the ter-
minal compartment, the device must be fully isolated from the power
supply.
The electrical connection must be carried out only by a quali-
fied electrician in accordance with the following wiring diagram.
The relevant safety regulations, standards (such as VDE 0100, VDE 0530 and VDE
0700) and the technical connection conditions of the local electricity supply com-
panies and accident prevention regulations must be observed. The power-supply
voltage and frequency must correspond to the data on the unit type plate. The
supply line must be introduced so that water penetration along the supply line is
impossible in case of water exposure. Never run lines over sharp edges, and use
strain relief for the ZEB EC.
If a residual current circuit breaker is installed in the supply line of the EC fan, the
residual current circuit breaker must have the following technical characteristics:
Type A
or
B
with a rated differential current of
300 mA
and delayed tripping
(super-resistant, characteristic K). The EC fan has a leakage current of
<= 3.5
mA
, calculated according to DIN EN 50178 image 4.
The unit is exclusively designed for fixed connection, and a connection via
plug is not permitted. The unit has one connection line, but no junction box.
