INSTALLATION AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1.0 Important information
In order to ensure proper functioning and personal
safety, all of the following instructions must be read
carefully and strictly observed.
1.1 Warranty claims – Exclusion of liability
If the following instructions are not observed, our
warranty shall not be valid. The same applies to
liability claims against the manufacturer. The use
of accessory parts, which are not recommended
or offered by Helios, is not permitted. Any possible
damages are not covered by the warranty.
1.2 Regulations - Guidelines
If the unit is installed correctly and used for its
intended purpose, it conforms to all applicable
regulations at its date of manufacture.
1.3 Receipt
The shipment must be checked for damage and
correctness immediately upon delivery. If there is
any damage, promptly report the damage with the
assistance of the transport company. If complaints
are not made within the agreed period, any claims
could be lost.
1.4 Storage
When storing for a prolonged time the following
steps must be taken to prevent damaging effects:
– Store the flexible connector in a dry, dust-free
place that is protected against direct sunlight.
– The storage location must be vibration-free,
waterproof and free of excessive temperature
fluctuations (10 °C to 20 °C). Damages due to
improper transportation, storage or commissio-
ning must be verified and are not covered by
warranty.
– Store the flexible connector in a strain-free en-
vironment without deformations and permanent
kinks.
1.5 Verification of suitability
Temperature-resistant -10 °C to +80 °C.
1.6 Area of application
The rectangular flexible connectors AIR1-VS are
flexible connectors for installation between the AIR1
ventilation unit and the duct system. They prevent
structure-borne sound transmission and allow length
adjustment during heating.
1.7 Type overview / Dimensions
2.0 Installation
Required tools:
Spanner, centring pins.
IMPORTANT!
Do not use sharp-edged tools!
m
Damage to the fabric must be avoided at
all costs!
Prior to installation:
– Check installation gaps/dimensions (see table
“Type overview / Dimensions”)!
– Clean duct and fan flange.
– The connection flanges must be flat, smooth and
free from burrs.
– The screw holes in the connection flange must
align.
– Check rectangular flexible connector for damage.
Installation AIR1-VS 30/15, 40/20, 70/40:
– The sealing lip on the flexible connector seals
directly against the duct flange (see Fig. 2).
– Insert and hand-tighten fixing screws.
– Additionally fasten t
he rectangular flexible con-
nector AIR1-VS 70/40 to the AIR1 unit with provi-
ded metal brackets according to Fig. 2.
–
m
Insert screws with the head to the bel-
lows. Otherwise, ensure that the screw pro-
trusion is short enough that damage to the
flange by the screw bolts is ruled out under
pressure stress and expansion absorption.
– Apply the required tightening torque (20 Nm for
screw size M8) for the flange screw connection
crosswise with a torque spanner.
Installation AIR1-VS 50/25, 50/30, 31/21, 35/31,
47/31, 58/41:
m
These types have pre-bending on one side.
This serves as a seal for the ventilation unit.
Install this side in the direction of the AIR1 ven-
tilation unit (see Fig. 3)!
– The sealing lip on the flexible connector seals
directly against the duct flange (see Fig. 5).
– Insert and hand-tighten fixing screws.

Installation AIR1-VS 85/41, 105/41, 120/41,
147/51, 160/71:
m
These types have a pre-mounted flange on
one side. This serves as a seal for the ventila-
tion unit. Install this side in the direction of the
AIR1 ventilation unit!
– The flange seals directly against the ventilation
unit and the sealing lip of the bellows seals di-
rectly against the duct.
– Insert and hand-tighten fixing screws.
– Screw the provided plastic brackets in the inter-
mediate hole on the ventilation unit to tighten the
flange against the ventilation unit (see Fig. 4)
