Installation:
Charge the batteries for at least 8 hours before using for the first time

switch on the lower side of the solar unit to the "ON" position and the 2nd switch to the
"AUTO" position when using for the first time. Please remember that the LED rope light cannot be put
into service of the 2nd switch id in the "MODE" position when it is being switched on.
Look for a very brightly lit position, possible with direct sunshine, in order to receive a maximum of
sunlight during daylight hours. At least six hours of light on the solar cells is necessary for the proper
operation of the rope light.
Any covering and any shadow falling on the solar unit impairs the charging function of the rechargeable
battery and also the brightness and duration of the LEDS.
You have the option of fastening the solar unit into the ground by using the supplied ground spike or of
fastening it to the wall with the installation plate.
Please do not use any force or extreme pressure when you are pushing the ground spike into the
ground. Please do not use a hammer or similar tool to do this. The installation plate is fixed to the wall
first of all for wall fastening. Make sure that the selected base is suitable to support the weight of the
solar unit permanently and reliably.
Push the solar unit onto the selected type of fastening. Make sure that the sun shines directly onto the
solar unit. Shadows falling onto the solar unit have a negative effect on the charging function of the
rechargeable battery.
Lay the LED rope light at the desired place.. Make sure that the rope light is sufficiently fastened and that
the illuminant, supply lines or solar unit are not damaged. Make sure when laying the cable that there are
no obstacles to trip over.
The LED rope light is put into service by operating the "ON" switch on the lower side of the solar unit.
The LED rope light starts to light up when there is sufficient darkness. Sources of light, from street lights,
or other lights, for example can lead to the LED rope light not switching on. A new location must be
specified in this case.
Set the switch on the lower side of the solar unit to the "OFF" position to switch off the LED rope light.
Selection of the operating mode
The light can be operated in two ways, automatically (AUTO) and individually (MODE).
7 different sequences are played through if the switch is at the "AUTO" position: 1. Permanent light, 2.
quick flashing light, 3. slow flashing light, 4. slow moving light, 5. slowly backwards, 6.quick moving light
and 7.quick moving light changing from backwards to forwards. Each sequence lasts about 10 – 15
seconds.
Each of the above mentioned sequences can also be selected for permanent operations, in addition to
automatic operations. Switch the switch to the "MODE" position if the desired sequence runs in the
"AUTO" mode. The selected sequence remains until the rope light is switched off or remains saved until
the sequence is changed.
This LED rope light is provided with a light sensor. In the switch position "ON" the rope light automatically
switches on at sunset and off at sunrise.
The rechargeable battery can be changed when capacity reduces: the lighting strength will be weaker or
lights up for a shorter period of time, for example. Switch off the LED rope light and remove the top part
of the solar unit from the lower part by unscrewing the 4 screws on the lower side. Only use NiMh
1.2V/600mAh rechargeable batteries. Do not use any batteries which cannot be recharged. Make sure
that you have the correct polarity when you are inserting the new rechargeable batteries. Replace the
top part back onto the bottom part and screw them together again after the batteries have been
replaced. Move the switch to the "ON" position to put the unit into service.
The name plate must not be removed.
