C. Installing Non-combustible Facing Material

Fire Risk.
• Follow these instructions exactly.
• Facing materials must be installed properly to
prevent fire.
• No materials may be substituted without
authorization by Hearth & Home Technologies.
• Center and attach top board to the framing members
(see Figure 9.3).
• Use fasteners from fastener packet (in manual bag) in
shaded areas (Figure 9.3).
• Use regular sheetrock screws in non-shaded areas (see
Figure 9.3).
• Place the appliance into position.
• Level the appliance from side to side and front to back.
• Shim the appliance, as necessary. It is acceptable to use
wood shims.
• Bend out nailing tabs on each side.
• Keep nailing tabs flush with the framing.
• Secure the appliance to the framing by using nails or
screws through the nailing tabs.

Maintain specified clearances
around the appliance.

around the appliance spacers.
• Attach the left and right side pieces to the framing
members. (See Figure 9.3).
• Use a wet or dry towel or soft brush to remove dust or
dirt from facing material.
• Apply a non-combustible adhesive to attach tile,
stone or other non-combustible finishing materials per
manufacturer’s instructions.
