•  The openings in the bottom of the barbecue are for ventilation and may not be covered.
•  Never store the barbecue near flammable liquids or flammable materials.
•  If the barbecue is to be stored indoors over winter, the gas cylinder must be removed. This should always be stored in an open, well-

ventilated area out of the reach of children.

•  Before using the barbecue, position it out of the wind.
•  If the gas barbecue is not being used, after it has cooled down it should be protected against the elements with a protective cover. You

can purchase a protective cover from your local barbecue distributor.

•  To avoid the accumulation of humidity during storage, remove the protective cover after heavy rain.

This manual should be kept and stored in a place that is accessible at all times.

LEAK TEST

WARNING: Do not permit sources of ignition in the area while performing the leak test – this includes smoking! Never test for gas leaks with a
lighted match or open flame! Always check for leaks outdoors.

1.  Check that the control knob is turned to the X position.
2.  Open the gas cylinder valve and check all the gas connections (on the gas cylinder/gas regulator/gas tube/gas inlet/valve) by brushing

a 50/50 solution of liquid soap and water onto them. You can also use a leak spray.

3.  Look for bubbles in the soap solution as these indicate that there is a leak. IMPORTANT: The barbecue must not be used until all leaks

have been eliminated. Close the gas cylinder valve.

4.  Eliminate the leak(s) by tightening the connections if possible or replacing the defective parts.
5.  Repeat steps 1 and 2.
6.  Consult your local gas distributor if leaks persist.

NOTE: Conduct a leak test each time the gas cylinder is connected or replaced and at the start of the new barbecue season each year.

LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS

1.  Ensure that all the connections between the gas tube, the gas regulator and the gas cylinder have been tightened. (Proceed according

to the instructions under LEAK TEST).

2.  Open the gas cylinder valve.
3.  Push in the gas control knob at the X position and turn it 90° counter clockwise to the

position. Keep the gas control knob pressed

in until the gas ignites and the thermocouple has reached the right temperature (depending on the external temperature, this takes
10-15 seconds).

4.  If the gas does not ignite within 12 seconds, turn the gas control knob to X. Wait two minutes so that the unburned gas can disperse.

Repeat steps 2 and 3.

5.  If it is not possible to light the barbecue after three attempts, check the cause as per the instructions under TROUBLESHOOTING.
