CALIBRATION
This scale has been factory calibrated, and does not require calibration prior to
use.
If required, the scale can be calibrated. Calibration of your scale is performed
using kilograms (KG). 20 kilograms total are required for calibrating, applied in 5 kg
increments.
Note: Only weights certified and traceable to national standards should be used
for calibration procedures.

SHOWS
With the scale off, press and hold the
ZERO/CLEAR
as well as the
kg/LB
button (553KL) or the blank blue button (553KG). While holding
down both buttons, momentarily press the
ON/OFF
button to power
on the scale. When
“CAL” appears on the display, release all buttons.
Numbers will appear indicating that you can calibrate.
“CAL” followed by
“XXXXX”
Press the
ZERO/CLEAR
button. “C-5” will flash on the display and
then return to “0.”
“C-5” then “0”
Place 5 kg on the scale and when the calibration number stabilizes,
press the
ZERO/CLEAR
button.
“C-10” will flash on the display and
then the display will return to “0”.
“C-10” then “0”
Place an additional 5 kg on the scale for a total of 10 kg. When the
calibration number stabilizes, press the
ZERO/CLEAR
button. “C-15”
will flash on the display and the
n the display will return to “0”.

Place an additional 5 kg on the scale for a total of 15 kg. When the
calibration number stabilizes, press the
ZERO/CLEAR
button.
“C-20”
will appear on the display, followed by “0”

Place an additional 5 kg on the scale for a total of 20 kg.When the
calibration numbers stabilize, press the
ZERO/CLEAR
button. “END”
will appear on the display and the scale will automatically shut off.
