During cold winter conditions take care that any change of
clothing has not reduced the tension and effectiveness of the
car seat.
PREPARING YOUR GUARDFIX FOR USE
Before using your new GUARDFIX it is important to under-
stand fully how to install your GUARDFIX properly, secure
your child correctly and familiarize yourself with the features
and functions of the seat.
Please take the time to read and understand these instruc-
tions fully. This is best done with the seat in front of you. Al-
ways read the safety warnings. Before using the seat in your
vehicle you should prepare the seat for your child, by setting
the harness correctly.
INSTALLING THE CAR SEAT
WARNING!
ALWAYS GIVE PREFERENCE TO USING THE
REAR SEATS OF YOUR VEHICLE. CHECK YOUR VEHI-
CLE MANUAL AS THIS REGULATION MAY VARY FOR AD-
VICE ON FITTING YOUR GUARDFIX IN THE FRONT OF
THE VEHICLE. AIRBAGS CAN CAUSE INJURY. IF YOU
USE THIS GUARDFIX ON A PASSENGER SEAT WITH A
FRONTAL AIRBAG MOVE THE PASSANGER SEAT AS FAR
AS POSSIBLE AWAY FROM THE DASHBOARD.
CHECK BEFORE INSTALLATION THAT THE SEATSHELL
IS IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION BY CHECKING THE INDI-
CATOR ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SEAT (A7). IF THE
INDICATOR IS NOT SHOWING “I” PLEASE ADJUST THE
POSITION WHILE PULLING THE ADJUSTER LEVER (12)
Pull the ISOFIX system release button (14) located on right
side of the support leg at the front of the car seat, the ISOFIX
connectors will be pushed out. (4)
