NOTE: The  unit  may  not  percolate  if  the  pumping  tube

assembly is not positioned properly.

8. Rotate the cover locks to the locked position to secure the

cover. Make sure the handles are in the “down” position.

9. Plug the unit into a properly grounded electrical outlet of

the correct voltage, size, and plug configuration. See the

SPECIFICATIONS section for details.

10. Press the POWER button to turn on the unit.

• The HEATING indicator will illuminate to indicate that

the unit is on and heating for a coffee or tea brewing

cycle.

11. Press  the  either  the  COFFEE  button  or  TEA  button,

depending on the beverage being brewed:

a. Press the COFFEE button to toggle through and select

the desired coffee mode shown on the TEMPERATuRE

display. There are three coffee modes:

c1

= Brews coffee to 95°C (203°F) and holds at 87°C

(189°F)

c2

= Brews coffee to 82°C (180°F) and holds at 85°C

(185°F)

c3

= Brews coffee to 76°C (169°F) and holds at 79°C

(174°F)

b. Press the TEA button to toggle through and select the

desired  tea  mode  shown  on  the  TEMPERATuRE

display. There are four tea modes:

= Brews  tea  to  95°C  (203°F)  and  holds  at  97°C

(207°F)

t2

= Brews  tea  to  92°C  (198°F)  and  holds  at  94°C

(201°F)

t3

= Brews  tea  to  86°C  (187°F)  and  holds  at  88°C

(190°F)

t4

= Brews  tea  to  95°C  (203°F)  and  holds  at  94°C

(201°F)

12. When the brewing cycle is complete (25–30 minutes), the

READy indicator will turn on. The coffee or tea is ready to

be served.

NOTE: When the brewing cycle is complete, the unit switches

automatically to the holding cycle. The unit will keep hot

beverages fresh as long as it is left on.

NOTE: For best results, use a hot pad to carefully remove the

coffe/tea basket and pumping tube assembly when the

brewing cycle is complete. This will prevent bitter oils

from dripping into the coffee or tea during the holding

cycle.

13. To make additional coffee or tea, rinse the unit and its parts

with cold water and repeat this procedure.

NOTE: If  the  unit  runs  dry  and

overheats while in operation,

a safety thermostat will shut

off  the  unit.  When  this

happens,  allow  the  unit  to

cool, 

and 

press 

the

thermostat  reset  button  on

the  bottom  of  the  unit.  The

unit will not reset until it has

cooled completely. Refill with

cool water before operating.

NOTE: One serving equals 0.24 l (five fluid ounces) of brewed

coffee or tea.

heating Water

use the following procedure to make hot water.

1. Remove the top cover.
2. Remove  the  coffee/tea  basket,  spreader  cover,  and

pumping  tube  assembly  from  the  tank.  Leave  these

components out when heating water.

3. Fill the tank with cool water to the desired cup level. Cup

level markings are located on the front liquid level tube.

NOTE: The unit makes 2.3–7.0 liters (13–40 servings) of hot

water. DO NOT overfill or underfill the unit. Fill according

to the markings on the liquid level tube for the number

of cups desired. One serving equals 0.24 l (five fluid

ounces) of hot water.

4. Plug the unit into a properly grounded electrical outlet of

the correct voltage, size, and plug configuration. See the

SPECIFICATIONS section for details.

5. Press the POWER button to turn on the unit.

• The HEATING indicator will illuminate to indicate that

the unit is on and heating.

6. Press the BOIL button to select water heating mode. The

current setpoint temperature will be shown on the display. 

7. use the uP button and DOWN button to set the desired

temperature within a range of 50–95°C (122–203°F).

8. When the heating cycle is complete (25–30 minutes), the

READy indicator will turn on.

NOTE: If the unit runs dry and overheats while in operation, a

safety  thermostat  will  shut  off  the  unit.  When  this

happens,  allow  the  unit  to  cool,  and  press  the

thermostat reset button on the bottom of the unit. The

unit will not reset until it has cooled completely. Refill

with cool water before operating.
