3.   Faites faire quelques tours complets à la chaîne pour 

répartir le lubrifiant.

4.   Laissez le lubrifiant pénétrer quelques minutes puis es-

suyez l’excédent avec un chiffon propre et sec. 
 
 

Contrôle du tube de chaîne

Le tube de chaîne (1) est destiné à protéger les vêtements du 
lubrifiant de la chaîne. Le tube de chaîne est monté de façon 
flottante afin de suivre la ligne de chaîne lors des changements 
de vitesses. Au fil du temps, la friction de la chaîne dans le 
tube use celui-ci. Contrôlez les extrémités du tube de chaîne 
afin de détecter d’éventuelles traces d’usure. Si les extrémités 
sont complètement usées, faites remplacer le tube de chaîne 
par votre vélociste. 

Remarque :

 

Le remplacement du tube de chaîne nécessite d’ouvrir la 
chaîne au niveau du maillon rapide.

3.  Continue rotating the crank to distribute the lubricant.

4.  Wait several minutes to allow the lubricant to penetrate. 

Then wipe off all excess lubricant using a clean, dry cloth. 

Checking the chain tube

The purpose of the chain tube (1) is to protect your cloth-
ing from chain lubricant. The mounting of the chain tube is 
moveable, allowing it to adjust to the chainline when gears are 
shifted (derailleur gears). Over time, friction from the moving 
chain will cause the tube to wear. Check the ends of the chain 
tube for any signs of wear. If the ends are completely worn, 
have your bicycle mechanic replace the chain tube. 
 

Note: 

 

In order to replace the chain tube, the chain must be 
opened at the connecting link.
