2. Safety instructions
2.1 General
This Multiphase Test Connector has to be used in a three-phase power supply system with a rated voltage of
230/400 V AC at a frequency of 50 Hz.
Check that the Multiphase Test Connector has been delivered in undamaged packaging and without defects.
Only qualified electrical technicians are permitted to use and handle the Multiphase Test Connector.
Caution:
Danger of electric shock and overheating of electric contacts.
Being used as intended, the Multiphase Test Connector must not be coupled or decoupled under electrical load.
Establish that no voltage is present, before inserting the connector under test.
The test connector must never be inserted or removed under voltage as this may cause damage to the contacts or
an electrical shock.
It is imperative to use a protection element (16 A, B-characteristic) before the test connector.
For protection against overload and short-circuits each phase is equipped with a non-resettable fuse (nominal current
= 0.05 A).
Note:
Extract from standard DIN EN 61 010-1:
“6.11.3.1 Single-phase cord-connected equipment
Single-phase cord-connected equipment shall have one of the following as a disconnecting device:
a) a switch or circuit-breaker;
b) an appliance coupler which can be disconnected without the use of a tool;
c) a separable plug, without a locking device, to mate with a socket-outlet in the building.
Conformity is checked by inspection.
6.11.4.2 Switches and circuit-breakers
An equipment switch or circuit-breaaker emploaed as a disconnecting device shall meet the relevant requirements of
IEC 60 947-1 and IEC 60 947-3 and be suitable for the application.
”
2.2 Safety symbols
3 ~
Three-phase alternating current (IEC 60417-5032-1)
General warning sign. Hint to pay attention to
the accompanying documentation!
Warning, risk of electric shock
Protection class I – earth conductor connection
Earth protection – Inserting the multiphase-test connector provides an electrical contact to the protective conductor
on the side contacts. A prerequisite is to rout together the protective earth conductors in the cable
for the three-phase motor and connect it according to specifications.
2.3 Opening and reassembly
Caution:
Do not open the test connector. In case of a fault or necessary repairs the test connector must be sent back
to the manufacturer. Once the test connector is opened, any warranty claims become invalid.
