DISPLAY
4.3 LCD NEW
Calculating the display information significantly affects the power
consumption. When the application does not require a fast display refresh
rate, it is strongly advised to select a slow refresh rate. Information will not
be lost, every pulse will be counted, and the output signals will be
generated in the normal way. The following can be selected:
fast, 1 sec, 3 secs, 15 secs, 30 secs, off
When “off” is selected, the display switches off automatically. When an
update rate other than “fast” is selected, pressing a key will switch the
update rate to “fast” for 30 seconds. After this time, the display will return to
the configured update rate (or switch off).
Save battery lifetime by choosing an update time of 1 second or longer.
After the operator has pressed a button, the display refresh rate will always
switch to fast for 30 seconds. When 'OFF' is selected, the display will:
temporarily turn on after one of the keys is touched; and automatically turn
off after 30 seconds.
4.4 BACKLIGHT
(BRIGHTNESS)
The unit has a backlight. The backlight brightness can be adjusted from off
(0%) to max (100%) in steps of 20%.
●
The brightness cannot be adjusted for battery powered units.
●
When the unit is only loop powered, it cannot use the backlight. An
external supply is required instead.
4.5 BACKLIGHT
(ALARM)
If the E018-P generates a flowrate alarm, the backlight can be set to
change to red. The following settings are available:
OFF: during a flowrate alarm the color is white.
ON: during a flowrate alarm the color is red.
FLASH: during a flowrate alarm the color flashes red.
4.6 BARGRAPH
The unit has a speedometer/bar graph around the edge of the display that
gives a quick impression of the actual flowrate. The following can be
selected:
●
Enable
: the bar graph is switched on.
●
Disable
: the bar graph is switched off.
4.7 RATESPAN
Sets the range of the speedometer. The display shows 0 – 100 and has 20
blocks. Therefore, each block represents 5% of the total range.
The number of decimals displayed depends on

MENU 5: FLOWMETER
The E018-P does not have an automatic unit conversion feature. This means that different K-Factors
for Total and Flowrate must be entered manually.
Use the following procedure to set up the K-factors for Total and Flowrate:
1.
5.1: FLOWMETER > SIGNAL
: Select the correct type of flowmeter signal.
2.
1.1: TOTAL > UNIT
: Select the desired measuring unit for Total.
3.
1.3: TOTAL > K-FACTOR
: Enter the (average) K-factor shown on the certificate provided with your
flowmeter. If the measurement unit on the certificate is different than the desired measuring unit
for Total, the K-factor must be calculated (see example below).
4.
2.1: FLOWRATE > UNIT
: Select the desired measuring units for (accumulated) Total.
5.
2.2: FLOWRATE > TIME
: Select the desired interval time for Flowrate.
6.
2.4: FLOWRATE > K-FACTOR
: Enter the (average) K-factor shown on the certificate. If the
measurement unit on the certificate is different than the desired measuring unit for Flowrate, the
K-factor must be calculated (see example below).
Example
: How to manually calculate the K-factor for total or flowrate:
● The Flowmeter generates 65.231 pulses per US gallon.
● The required measurement unit is cubic feet (ft
3
).
● A cubic foot = 7.48052 gallons.
