LIFT SYSTEM INSTALLATION
The Outlander is designed to be easily installed into
any vehicle equipped with a Class II or Class III/IV
hitch receiver.
NOTE: For applications above 21 in (53.34 cm),
please call your authorized Harmar Dealer for
special installation instructions.
WARNING! The lift system should be installed
only by an authorized Harmar Dealer or service
technician.
NOTE: Refer to securement installation
instructions that are specific to your application
(i.e. product, vehicle) for further details.
To install the Scooter lock-down arm (Outlander
FP only):
1. Lay the lift system flat on the floor.
2. Remove the black caps.
3. Remove hardware. See figure 4.
4. Position the lock-down arm onto the threaded
bolts and align with the two holes. See figure 4.
5. Insert the washer.
6. Reattach hardware.
7. Secure the nut to the securement screw.
8. Reattach the black caps.
NOTE: If you purchase an Outlander TM, DE, or
XL,
the lock-down arm is installed.
NOTE: Any nylon insert lock nut removed during
disassembly or adjustment of the lift system
must be replaced with a new nut. Nylon insert
lock nuts should not be reused as it may cause
damage to the nylon insert, resulting in a less
secure fit. Replacement nylon insert lock nuts are
available at local hardware stores or through your
authorized provider.
To install power chair hold-down bar:
1. Place the power chair on the lift.
2. Raise lift to the most upward position.
3. Place the power chair hold-down bar on the seat
into the cushion. Once secured, attach to mast
with supplied hardware. See figure 5.
