IP66 external PSU, do not connect devices that will draw more than
5 A total for the whole chain. If using a generic external PSU, do not
connect devices that will draw more than 7.5 A or the maximum
current rating of the PSU, whichever is lower.
• If you are connecting devices to one single VC-Feeder that is not
connected to any other VC-Feeders, respect the maximum limits
given above for a chain of VC-Feeders.
Throughput to other device types
Drawing off data only
It is possible to draw off P3 or DMX data at the end of a VC-Feeder chain
for connection to other types of device by connecting a Martin™ Data
Out/Thru Adapter Cable (P/N 11840202) to the last VC-Feeder’s THRU
connector. This cable has a:
• 6-pin male IP65 connector that accepts data from the VC-Feeder
throughput, and a
• 5-pin female XLR connector that can supply P3 or DMX data to other
types of Martin™ display device.
Drawing off power and data
Warning! If you draw off DC power at the end of a chain of VC-
Feeders, check that any additional devices will not exceed the
maximum permitted current for a chain as specified in “Protection
from electric shock” on page 5.
Add the length of any extra cable to the cable length from the DC
power source to the last VC-Feeder on the chain, and check that the
total cable length will not exceed the maximum permitted DC power
cable run of 50 m (164 ft.) for a chain as specified in “Protection from
electric shock” on page 5.
It is possible to draw off 48 VDC power and P3 or DMX data at the end of
a VC-Feeder chain for connection to other types of Martin™ device by
connecting a Martin™ Hybrid Output Adapter Cable (P/N 11840166) to
the last VC-Feeder’s THRU connector. This cable has a:
• 6-pin male IP65 connector that accepts power and data from the VC-
Feeder throughput, and a
• 4-pin female XLR connector that can supply 48 VDC power and P3 or
DMX data to other types of Martin™ display device.
