WARNING! Check that the device’s electrical connections are correct during installation.
If the connecting cables between the motor and the device were to be inverted, the
device would operate at the incorrect speed ratio. If you find that the device is not
operating at the correct speed ratio, contact the nearest Harken
®
support centre or
contact the Harken
®
Italy Tech Service to have the electrical connections checked for
correctness.
WARNING! Do not exceed the rated tightening torque of the lock nuts of the motor cable
lugs (10 Nm).
USAGE
The device is used to electrically control the winch connected to it by manual operating the buttons
connected to it.
Operation of the device is identical for all winch series and capacities.
WARNING! To avoid accidents, carefully read, understand and observe all the warnings
and General Instructions in the Harken Catalogue and on the website www.harken.com.
Each time you intend use the device, before doing so:

Check that the device operating correctly

Check that the control buttons connected to the device are in good condition and
operational
Before using any function of the device:

Ensure that you have good visibility of the system and that you are aware of its
limits of movement

Ensure that there are no persons or objects in the vicinity of the moving parts
Failure to observe these warnings could lead to accidents resulting in damage to your vessel, personal
injury or even death.
The device contains a processor which is able to perform diagnostics on various parameters in order
to activate a range of different options.
When it is turned on, the device runs system diagnostics (wiring, battery voltage, internal functions);
if an error is detected, the device will not operate and it will display a warning light (see the section
Diagnostics, Troubleshooting and Faults).
When a button is pressed, the device checks the current and compares this with its preset reference
levels. In the event that these levels are exceeded, power to the motor is cut for a preset time.
