Troubleshooting
WARNING!
Improper use, faulty electrical installation or excessive mains voltage may result in
an electric shock or short-circuiting.
■
Never try to repair a defective or suspected defective appliance yourself. You can
put your own and future users’ lives in danger. Only authorised specialists are al-
lowed to carry out this repair work.
■
Do not continue to cook if you fi nd cracks in the glass ceramic. Water that runs
through cracks into the hob may be live and can cause electric shock! Immediately
disconnect the hob from the mains (switch off and/or unscrew fuses) and contact
our Service Centre (see "Service department“ on page GB-27).

Problem
Possible solutions / tips
The hob cannot be
switched on; the display
is blank.
The power supply has been interrupted. Check the fuse for the stove
in the fuse box in the apartment. In case of doubt, connect our Ser-
vice Centre (see "Service department“ on page GB-27).
The sensors do not re-
act.
The safety lock is now enabled. Switch it off (see "Safety locking
mechanism“ on page GB-16).
The sensors respond
poorly.
A film of water is covering the sensor, or you did not touch the sensors
with your entire fingertip. Clean and dry the sensor field, and always
touch the sensor with the entire fingertip and not just the very end of
the finger.
The cookware makes
a crackling or whirring
noise.
These noises arise due to the design of the induction cookware and
do not indicate a defect.
The cookware emits a
whistling sound when on
a high heat setting.
These noises arise due to the design of the induction cookware and
do not indicate a defect. If you reduce the heat setting, these noises
should stop.
Fan noise.
The hob is equipped with a fan, which switches on automatically
when one of the cooking zones/areas is activated, and continues to
run for some time after the hob has been switched off.
Do not shut off power to the hob while the fan is running.
The cookware does not
heat up and the mes-
sage ‘ ’ appears on the
display.
The induction hobs do not recognise the cookware because it is not
suitable for induction hobs. Select suitable cookware (see "The right
cookware“ on page GB-11).
The induction hob does not recognise the cookware because it is too
small for the selected cooking zone/area or because it is not centred
on the cooking zone/area.
