Holiday mode
WARNING
Health hazard!
Stored food can spoil from insuffi cient
cooling. This could lead to a risk of food
poisoning when consumed.
■
Note that the shelf life of stored food
may be shortened due to a rise in the
temperature inside the appliance.
■
Remove stored food from the appli-
ance – even when only switching off
the appliance temporarily – and store
it in a suffi ciently cool place or in an-
other refrigerating appliance.
■
Consume thawed and defrosted
foods immediately, do not refreeze.

You can switch off the fridge (e.g. while on
holiday) without interrupting the power sup-
ply. The freezer will stay cold.
Setting
• Press the selection button (25) MODE
once. The signal (24) ‘Holiday mode’ and
the signal (18) OFF will appear on the
display. The temperature signals (16) and
(17) display –18 °C and “
−
”.
Turning off
You can turn off “Holiday mode” in various
ways.
• Press the selection button (25) MODE
four times.
The original temperature settings will ap-
pear on the display.
“Holiday mode” is turned off.
• Press the (19) REF.TEMP. button once.
The (17) temperature signal will flash.
If you press the REF.TEMP button again
you will change the temperature setting of
the fridge compartment and thus turn off
“Holiday mode”.
• Press the (15) FRZ.TEMP. button once.
The (16) temperature signal will flash.
If you press the FRZ.TEMP button again
you will change the temperature setting of
the freezer compartment and thus turn off
“Holiday mode”.
Stand-by mode
If no button has been pressed for 25 seconds,
all display indicators will switch off.
To get the display indicators to light up,
• press any button.
• open a door.
Door alarm
The use of energy and the temperature inside
the appliance can increase if the doors are
opened often or for long periods of time.
To avoid an excessive loss of cooling, a tone
will sound when one or both doors of the
fridge-freezer have been open for more than
2 minutes.
• Close the open door(s).
When you open the door of the refrigerator
or freezer, you will hear a beeping sound and
the appliance’s interior will light up.
• To switch off the beeping sound, press and
hold the MODE button (33) for 3 seconds.
