Before getting started
• Read the “„Safety“” chapter from Pagep-
age EN-4.
• Set up and connect the appliance as
described in chapter “„Start-up“” from
Pagepage EN-25.
Switching the appliance on
and off
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
If the cooling unit has been transported
horizontally, lubricant from the
compressor may get into the cooling
circuit.
■
Allow the appliance to stand upright
for approx. 2 hours after transport
and before connecting.
Switching on
1. Insert the mains plug into an easily acces-
sible socket (220–240 V~ / 50 Hz).
– On the control panel the temperature
indicators will light up.
– The interior light (18) will switch on.
– The compressor will begin to work.
– The refrigerant will flow through the
pipes, and you will be able to hear a
quiet humming sound.
The temperature is preset to +4 °C
when the appliance is switched on for
the first time.
The interior light will switch on as soon as the
door is opened and will switch off if the door
is closed.
2. If the appliance makes unusual noises,
check that it is on a solid base and re-
move any objects that are on top of the
appliance.
Switching off
1. Disconnect the mains plug from the
socket.
– The signals on the control panel
disappear.
– The interior light (18) will go out.
– The compressor is switched off. The
appliance doesn’t refrigerate.
2. If the appliance is switched off, leave the
doors open slightly to avoid mould forma-
tion.
Setting the temperature
CAUTION
Health hazard!
The appliance may not operate proper-
ly if exposed to low ambient tempera-
tures for extended periods of time. The
temperature may increase in the fridge
and freezer which may cause the foods
stored within to spoil more quickly.
■
Always ensure the prescribed
ambient temperature is maintained
(see „Intended use“ on page EN-4).
If you set a lower temperature, you will
need a higher cooling performance.
This increases the energy consump-
tion.
