Troubleshooting table
Malfunctions can occur in all electrical appliances. This does not necessarily mean there is a
defect in the appliance. For this reason, please check the tables to see if you can correct the
malfunction.

Risk of electric shock in case of improper repair!
Never try to repair a defective or suspected defective appliance yourself. You can put
your own and future users’ lives in danger. Only authorised specialists are allowed to
carry out this repair work.

Compressor off,

No electricity to socket.
Check the socket by connecting another
appliance.
Mains plug is loose.
Check the tightness of the mains plug.
Compressor off,
interior light on.
Desired temperature has
been reached.
Further cooling not required. When the
inside temperature rises, the compressor
automatically turns on.
Repositioning.
The appliance requires 2 hours to allow
the refrigerant to settle.
Appliance cools
too quickly.
Temperature controller is
set at too cold a setting.
Turn down the temperature controller
(see "Operation" on page EN-12).
The appliance
doesn’t cool suffi-
ciently.
Incorrect temperature se-
lected.
Turn the temperature controller to a higher
cooling position (see "Operation" on page
EN-12).
Appliance door not tightly
closed or door seal is not
completely tight.

The appliance is near a
heat source.
Change location.
Food has been put in warm. Only put in cooled foods.
Too many goods loaded.
The maximum freezing capacity is shown
on the appliance’s type plate.
Thick ice layer in the freezer
compartment.
Defrost the freezer (see "Defrosting and
cleaning the chest freezer" on page EN-17).
Ambient temperature too
low or too high.
Adjust ambient temperature (see "Intended
use" on page EN-4).
Compressor seems defec-
tive.
Set the temperature controller to the
highest level. If the compressor does not
switch on within an hour, please contact
our service department (see page EN-25).
