Risks to children
WARNING
Risk of suffocation!
■
Do not allow children to play with
the packaging fi lm. Children may get
caught in it or suffocate.
■
Prevent children from pulling small
parts off the appliance or putting
them in their mouths.
Risks for certain groups of
people
CAUTION
Danger to children and people with im-
paired physical, sensory or mental abil-
ities!
■
This appliance can be used by chil-
dren aged eight years and above and
by persons with reduced physical, sen-
sory or mental abilities, or who lack
experience and/or knowledge, if they
are supervised or have been instruct-
ed in the safe use and understand the
dangers associated with its use.
■
Children should not be allowed to
play with the appliance nor should
they have access to the appliance
when left unattended.
■
Do not leave the appliance unsuper-
vised while in operation.
■
Cleaning and maintenance must not
be carried out by children unless they
are supervised.
Even with the fi lters, the appliance ex-
haust air may still contain small quan-
tities of dirt particles. If breathed in by
small children, these can lead to allergic
reactions.
■
Avoid vacuuming close to children,
wherever possible.
Risks in handling household
electrical appliances
WARNING
Risk of electric shock!
Touching live parts may result in severe
injury or death.
■
Only use the appliance indoors. Do
not use in wet rooms or in the rain.
■
Never expose the appliance to effects
of the weather (rain, etc.).
■
If the mains cord of the appliance is
damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, through its customer
service or by a qualifi ed specialist.
■
Do not operate or continue to use the
appliance, if it
–
shows visible signs of damage, e.g.
the mains cord is defective.
–
it starts smoking or there is a smell
of burning.
–
it makes unfamiliar noises.
In this case, you should pull the mains
plug out of the socket and have the
appliance repaired (see “Service” on
page EN-22).

Connect the appliance only to an eas-
ily accessible socket, to allow you to
disconnect it quickly from the mains
in the event of a fault.
