ADJUSTMENTS
ACCUMULATOR
Releasing Accumulator Pressure
WARNING!
When making adjustments, the machine will see the new parameter and adjust the machine appropriately.
This may cause the machine to move in the direction of the new parameter.
• Ensure that everyone is clear of the machine when making adjustments.
• Ensure that everyone is clear when working on, operating, or moving the Merger.
• When working on high pressure hydraulic circuits, the oil can be under pressure and cut
through the skin.
WARNING!
PRESSURE MUST BE BLED FROM THE ACCUMULATOR BEFORE REPAIRING OR REMOVING IT.
1. Remove the VALVE GUARD & VALVE CAP as shown in the first picture below.
2. Attach the GAUGE to the VALVE STEM and turn in the VALVE THUMB SCREW to bleed the pressure
from the ACCUMULATOR as shown in the second picture below.
Recharging Accumulator
To recharge the ACCUMULATOR, (see picture below) remove the VALVE GUARD & VALVE CAP. At-
tach the GAUGE to the VALVE STEM making sure that the VALVE THUMB SCREW is turned out all
the way (closed) before attaching. Connect the Nitrogen Tank to the
GAUGE
inlet. Turn in the
VALVE
THUMB SCREW on the GAUGE to open the VALVE. Open the VALVE on the Nitrogen Tank to fill the
ACCUMULATOR to the pressure listed below.
Close the Nitrogen Tank Valve
and turn the
GAUGE VALVE
THUMB SCREW all the way
out to close it. After it is closed,
disconnect the Nitrogen Tank
and the GAUGE.
Install the VALVE CAP &
VALVE GUARD. Reinstall
the ACCUMULATOR if it
has been removed.
