2.1

EFINITIONS
MACHINE:
Assembly, fitted with or intended to be fitted with a drive system, other that direct human or animal
force, consisting of linked parts or components, at least one of which moves, and which are joined together for
a specific application.
INTERCHANGEABLE EQUIPMENT:
Device that, after commissioning a machine or tractor, is assembled on
the machine or tractor by the operator in order to modify its function or provide a new function, insofar as this
equipment is not an instrument.
DANGER:
Potential source of injury or damage to health.
DANGER AREA:
Any area inside and/or near a machine (and/or equipment) in which the presence of a
person constitutes a risk to the safety and health of that person.
EXPOSED PERSON:
Any person who is wholly or partially in a danger area.
OPERATOR:
The person or persons in charge of installing, operating, adjusting, cleaning, repairing and
handling a machine (and/or equipment) or performing its maintenance.
RISK:
Combination of the probability and severity of an injury or damage to health that may arise in a
dangerous situation.
INTENDED USE:
Use of the machine (and/or equipment) in accordance with the information provided in the
instructions for use.
REASONABLY FORESEEABLE INCORRECT USE:
The use of the machine (and/or equipment) in a way
different from that indicated in the instructions for use, which may derive from easily predictable human
behavior.
2.2
I
NTERACTION WITH THE EQUIPMENT
Work with the equipment can only be carried out by operators having the qualifications defined in the following
paragraphs. It will be the responsibility of the USER to identify the qualified personnel for the various tasks and
to train the same as suggested in this manual. Work area is meant as the area facing the machine in which the
operator normally finds him/herself during the normal operation of the machine. The work area must never be
occupied by personnel unrelated to the work, in order to avoid possible interference with the operator's
freedom of movement and action. In case of emergency, immediate access to the machine by the operator
must be guaranteed. Therefore, presence in the work area must be forbidden to people who are not
authorized and appropriately informed about the risks involved.
