9-1-2 ADJUSTING THE SYNCHROSCAN FREQUENCY
The operating frequency of the synchroscan unit is adjusted to match its usage environment. If errors
occur during use or operation becomes unstable, fine-adjusting the frequency may make the operation
stable. About tuning the M10911-02, contact Hamamatsu subsidiary or local distributor. If the operation is
unstable, make the following adjustments:
(1) Turn off the power supply unit.
(2) Remove a front maintenance cover.
(3) Check again that the power supply unit switch is turned off. Then, the banana
tip side of the SWR cable attached to the unit is connected to a voltmeter.
Next, the LEMO connector side of a SWR cable is connected to the
connector in the maintenance cover of a unit.
(4) Turn on the power supply unit, connect from computer for control.
(5) Set the slowest sweep range.
(6) Change the setting from focus mode to operate mode.
(7) Since the reading value of a voltmeter becomes large, turn the screw inside a
Variable capacitor tuning hole and make it this value become the minimum at
this time. When you turn a screw, use the insulated adjustment driver.
(8) It raises one range of sweep ranges step by step, and repeats adjustment of
the above-mentioned variable capacitor until it becomes the fastest sweep
range.
(9) When it becomes the fastest sweep range, it will readjust every 10 minutes,
and adjust in 30 minutes, and it is an end.
Even if it performs the above adjustment, when not operating normally, system may have
failures, or a gap of adjustment sweep frequency and the input signal frequency may be
large. Contact Hamamatsu subsidiary or local distributor.
