Appendix B: Trouble Shooting
Q: No dialing tone for ordinary phone line when pressing the ‘Talk’ key
A: This means the base unit is not properly connected to phone line
- Check the power supply of Base unit
- Check the phone line connection
- Move the handset closer to the base unit
- Charge the handset unit
Q: The handset shows ‘PC not available’
This means the base unit is not properly connected to the PC, or the software “2-in-1
SkypeDECT” has not been installed on your PC.

Check the USB connection between PC and Base unit

Make sure the 2-in-1 SkypeDECT software is active and running
Q: Bad audio quality
A: This is an RF device which is sensitive to other electrical devices which can emit RF
signals (e.g. hair dryer). Please move the handset and/or base unit away from these devices.
Or the handset is already too far away from the base unit.
Q: Cannot call SkypeOut™ number
- Note that all SkypeOut’s calls are treated as international calls. For all numbers
international code (“00” or “+”) has to be added before dialing area code and phone
number (example 00 49 69 1234.., for dialing a number in Frankfurt, Germany).
- Your Skype™ credit has been consumed.
Q: No PC sound after connecting the base unit to PC
A: It is because Windows will immediately set the default audio device to ‘Generic USB
audio device’ when the Base unit is connected to PC.
- use the menu item ‘Set Audio Device’ to select the default audio device for your PC.
Q: The phone does not ring when there is an incoming call.
A: The ringer may be turned off. Turn on the ringer.
