For your saFEty!
– This device may be part of a building installation. When planning and installing
electrical systems, the relevant standards and guidelines of the country in which
the device is installed must be observed.
– Installation and assembly of electrical equipment may only be performed by
a qualified person following all applicable guidelines for the prevention of
electrical accidents and electrocution. The operation of the device is only
permitted at 230 V/50 Hz A/C. Installation on a 230 V network may only be
carried out by a qualified electrician (according to VDE 0100) the applicable
accident prevention rules and regulations must be observed and followed. To
avoid an electric shock, the mains power supply must be switched off before
the beginning of installation.
– If rules and regulations are not followed, fire or other hazards may arise and
there is a danger of electric shock.
– The device may only be mounted indoors. Keep the device away from humi-
dity, dust, sunlight and any heat sources.
– All connected devices should not exceed a maximum power consumption of
3000 W. Overloading the device can destroy it, may result in a fire or become
an electrical hazard.
– Do not open the device. It does not contain components serviceable by an end
user. Opening the device carries a risk of electric shock. When installing the
device, use the correct cable gauges to connect to the terminals.
– In public buildings the accident prevention rules and regulations for the in
-
stallation of electrical systems and equipment issued by the professional
associations must be observed.
– In schools, gyms, clubhouses and workshops the modules must be operated
and monitored by responsible trained personnel.
– If the device needs servicing or repair, only genuine spare parts may be used.
The use of other spare parts can cause serious damage and personal injury.
Mounting the sensor
Mount the water sensor at the level you wish to monitor. The position of the sensor
defines when the alarm should be activated. The sensor cable can be extended
with a two core wire up to 50 m.
note!
The connecting wire of the sensor must be installed in such a way, that
the cables to not become a hazard and cause accidents.
Make sure that the maximum temperature in a control cabinet does not exceed
the maximum working temperature (–15°C…+40°C) of the device. Make sure
that there is enough distance to other components and heat sources.
getting started
A function test has to be absolved, after the Water Alarm WPS 4000 is mounted
onto a 35 mm top hat rail and all sensors are assembled.
The device can be used immediately after it has been connected to the mains.
The LED “Netz” will light up green, signaling that the device is ready for use.
Before connecting any devices to the relay, check the relay function. To do this,
bridge the two metal contacts on the water sensor with water or a piece of metal.
The switching (clicking) of the relay should be audible and the LEDs on the device
should light up.
